We note with sadness the passing of Dr. Orcena E. Lyle, Ph.D. – known in Twin City radio circles as Orcy Lyle (W0QT). She was 86 year old.
Orcy had General, Advanced, and Extra Class licenses.
She was Vice President of the St. Paul club for two years and President for four years, ending her service in 2008.
Orcy also chaired several Field Day events and maintained the St. Paul Club’s website for a time.
She was interested in PSK31, antenna work, fox hunting, APRS, building of electronics projects, and general club activities.
On the side, Orcy also took delight in chairing a Circuit Builders Forum group for seventh and eighth graders at Washington Middle School.
As Orcy once described it, “I seem to go off in every direction in ham radio, because it is all so much fun.”
She will be missed.
